Deputies Assaulted While Making Arrest
A Lawrenceburg man was charged with assaulting two deputies during the weekend while they were attempting to take him into custody.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department went to 829 Mahr Avenue Sunday afternoon to serve warrants on Jamison Dale Huskey, age 24.
Deputies report that they were in the process of escorting Huskey out of his apartment and placing him in handcuffs when he began making attempts to run away, tripping in the parking lot. Huskey reportedly became combative, fighting against the officers. They were forced to call for backup to complete the arrest.
While Huskey fought with deputies one reportedly sustained an injury to his hand while another reported being kicked in the face and shoulder.
Huskey was booked through the Lawrence County Detention Center on two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer and two counts of violation of probation. He will answer the assault charges in General Sessions Court on February 28, 2013.
